The 2014 NFL season left a black eye on the most popular league in the country. From domestic violence, concussion issues and one case of child abuse that left everyone shocked. Yesterday the National Football League decided to reinstate Adrian Peterson. The Minnesota Vikings’ star running back has been on the commissioner’s exempt list since his child abuse incident in September of 2014. Adrian Peterson was on pace to have Emmett Smith nervously watching his rushing record get closed in on. With Peterson missing the entire 2014 campaign besides the opening game, it doesn’t look as promising considering that AP will be 30 next season. Thirty is an age that tends to see running backs place one foot out the door and closer to retirement.
You’ll have a hard time putting a running back other than Adrian Peterson atop the NFL’s best running back list in the past decade. Consistent thousand yard rusher as well as the bell-cow back in Minnesota. His 2012 was one for the history books after coming up eight yards short of the All time single season record. Hard to believe that he was only nine months removed from Reconstructive Knee surgery (ACL).
Despite what many naysayers have to say about his incident, AP returning is one of the biggest stories for the 2015 season.
